Good start for FC’s Kobrys, Heslin

Fort Cherry running back Koltan Kobrys got the season off to a good start by rushing for 215 yards and returning the game’s opening kickoff 99 yards for a score as Fort Cherry defeated host Carlynton, 46-31, Friday night in a wild Class A Black Hills Conference opener.
Fort Cherry, which led 33-14 at halftime, received three touchdown passes from Matt Heslin after Kobrys had given the Rangers a 13-7 lead with a 57-yard scoring run. Heslin’s TD tosses were 39 yards to Alex Babirad, 14 yards to Zach Dysert and five yards to Scott Miller.
Garrett Whalen and John Findling had scoring runs for FC, which overcame TD runs of four and 71 yards by Carlynton’s Fred Missick.
