PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin is “day to day” with a lower body injury and will not play tonight when the Penguins travel to Boston.

Malkin, who is second in the league the 38 points, sustained the injury during a team skate Thursday morning and sat out Thursday night’s 5-1 win over San Jose.

Forward Pascal Dupuis, who scored the first Pittsburgh goal against the Sharks, left early in the second period with a lower body injury. Coach Dan Bylsma said Friday Dupuis is also “day to day.” Dupuis will make the trip to Boston.

The Penguins placed forward Andrew Ebbett on injured reserve Friday after Ebbett broke his ankle blocking a shot against San Jose. The team recalled forward Harry Zolnierczyk from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.
