Canon-McMillan swept the lightweights and added two pins in the higher weights to take a 45-17 victory from General McLane in a nonsection wrestling match.
The victory puts the Big Macs’ record at 6-0.
Camden Fontenot (106), defending state champion Solomon Chishko (152), Nick Konyk (170) and Jesse Lesko (182) each had a pin for the Big Macs.
Dion Wiegand, a senior tailback for Washington & Jefferson College, will play in the Division III Senior Classic, Friday, Dec. 13 at Salem (Va.) Stadium.
Wiegand rushed for 1,339 yards and scored 20 touchdowns while helping the Presidents to a berth in the NCAA Division III playoffs. Wiegand will play on the North team that will play the South.
Mike Adamson shot an 8-under par 63 last week to set the course record at the Old Sandwich Golf Club in Plymouth, Mass.
Adamson, a 1992 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School, broke the mark of 64 set by Brad Faxon, a PGA tour golfer.
Adamson was an NCAA Division III champion in 1996 and was runner-up in 1997.
After helping California University snap a four-game losing streak, guard Drew Cook was selected Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Freshman of the Week. Cook averaged 8.0 points while playing 24.5 minutes per game off the bench.
• California University junior midfielder Chelsea Crockett and senior defender Stephanie Thompson were named Daktronics Third-Team All-Americans.
Junior forward Erin Hogan made Honorable Mention.
Crockett tied her career high with eight goals and had five assists. Thompson anchored a defense that set a school record with 16 shutouts and Hogan led the nation and set the single-season school record with 17 assists.
Junior midfielder Jeffrey Kyei made Daktronics Third-Team All-American.
Kyei led Cal in goals (9), assists (6) and points (24).
• W&J junior forward Nate Bellhy earned Presidents’ Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
He had a combined 48 points and 19 rebounds during games against Westminster and Thiel.
• W&J senior 165-pounder Josh Etzel was chosen Presidents’ Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week. Etzel claimed the 165-pound championship Saturday at the Rochester Institute of Technology Invitational with a 4-0 record.
