The Wild Things have picked up the contract options for 2014 on 28 players who either finished last season with Washington or were acquired during the offseason.

Those whom the Wild Things chose to pick up the options on include 13 pitchers: Mike Barsotti, Shawn Blackwell, Pat Butler, Tyler Elrod, Zach Fleshman, Dan Goldtsein, Justin Hall, Zach LeBarron, Steve Messner, Jhonny Montoya, Chris Phelan, Andy Smithmyer and Ryan Zamorsky.

Also having their options for 2014 picked up were catchers Michael Allen, Maxx Garrett and Jim Vahalik, infielders C.J. Beatty, Nick Boggan, Ryan Kresky, A.J. Nunziato and Shain Stoner, and outfielders Tyler Hall, Stewart Ijames, Scott Kalamar, Jordan Keur, Quincy Latimore, Daniel Poma and Tim Williams.

Two players, catchers Mario Mercedes and Matt Mirabal, did not have their options picked up and are now free agents.
