Waynesburg University senior defensive end Brandon Fedorka was named Thursday to the Associated Press Little All-America football third team.

Fedorka is the first Waynesburg player since Mike Czerwien, who also played defensive line from 2004 to 2007, to be named amongst the best NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA players.

The Presidents’ Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year this season, Fedorka set personal bests with 67 tackles (46 solo), 11 1/2 sacks and 21 1/2 tackles for loss. He also recovered three fumbles.

Fedorka is one of 49 finalists for the Cliff Harris Award, which is given to the best small college defensive player in the country. The winner will be announced Tuesday.
