Ovie Soko scored 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting to lead Duquesne to an 88-69 victory over Texas-Pan American Sunday.

The Dukes (6-5) took control of the game with a 22-4 run midway through the first half that included back-to-back 3-pointers by Micah Mason in building a lead that was never challenged. Mason contributed 14 points in the win, while Jeremiah Jones added 11 and Tra’ Vaugh White 10.

Hitting 34 of 68 from the floor, it was the third straight game Duquesne has shot at least 50 percent.

The Broncs (4-5) quickly fell behind in the opening minutes before battling back to tie it at 15 on a Shaquille Hines jumper with 12:39 to go in the first half. But it was the last time Texas Pan-Am would challenge the Dukes in the game.

Hines led the Broncs with 27 points.

Georgia Tech 58, Charlotte 55: Trae Golden scored a game-high 24 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 3.6 seconds left, to lead Georgia Tech past Charlotte 58-55. The victory improved Georgia Tech’s record to 9-4, while Charlotte fell to 8-4.

Maryland 85, Tulsa 74: Dez Wells scored 18 points, Seth Allen added 15 in his season debut and Maryland overcame an early 15-point deficit to beat Tulsa 85-74.

Notre Dame 87, Canisius 81: Playing without its leading scorer, Notre Dame got a career day from Eric Atkins, who scored a career-best 30 points to lead the Irish to an 87-81 overtime win over Canisius.

It has been a rough week for the Irish (9-4), who lost an 8-point lead against No. 3 Ohio State, then senior Jerian Grant to an academic violation, and sophomore reserve Cameron Biedscheid to transfer.

Garrick Sherman converted a three-point play and an offensive putback late in overtime, and Atkins drilled his career-best sixth 3-pointer with 12 seconds to play to seal the Irish win. Sherman finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Florida 76, Savannah State 34: Pat Young scored 15 points, becoming the 50th player in school history to reach 1,000 in his career, and No. 13 Florida handled Savannah State 76-34.
