Cal softball improves to 7-0

The California University softball team remained undefeated by winning two games Friday at the Shaw in North Carolina. The Vulcans defeated Wheeling Jesuit, 5-0, and followed it with a 10-2 victory over West Liberty.

he Vulcans improved their record to 7-0.

Against Wheeling Jesuit (1-4), freshman Alex Sagl tossed a four-hit shutout and set a career high with 12 strikeouts. Freshman third baseman Natalya Smarra hit a solo home run and freshman first baseman Lindsay Reicoff had a two-run homer.

Reicoff went 3-for-4 with two runs scored against West Liberty (0-2) in the nightcap.
