MOON TOWNSHIP (AP) – Velton Jones scored 20 points and Robert Morris erupted for a huge second-half run in an 89-46 thrashing of Fairleigh Dickinson Saturday night in Northeast Conference play.

The conference-leading Colonials (12-4, 20-9), leading 44-25 at halftime, more than doubled the score in the second half.

Robert Morris exploded for a 40-12 run to lead 84-37 with 5:52 left. It ended with one of Jones’ four 3-pointers.

Fairleigh Dickinson (2-14, 7-22) lost its 13th straight game. The Knights were no match for Jones and his teammates. The Colonials’ Mike McFadden scored 15 points. Russell Johnson recorded a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double and Karvel Anderson scored 10.

Kyle Pearson came off the FDU bench to score 14 points. Melquan Bolding added 12.
