California University remained undefeated by sweeping a doubleheader from Limestone, 4-1 and 11-6, in Gaffney, S.C., Sunday.

Cal (11-0) is off to its best start to a season in more than a decade, while Limestone is 2-6.

In the opener, winning pitcher Alex Sagl threw a complete game two-hitter and struck out eight. After two of the first three Limestone batters in the game reached base, Sagl allowed just two additional baserunners over the remainder of the game.

Shelby Lia hit a solo home run, drove in two runs and scored twice to lead Cal at the plate.

In the second game, Cal overcame a 3-1 deficit by getting a three-run homer from Waynesburg graduate Breanna Morris and scoring five unearned runs in the fourth inning. Morris also had an RBI-single in the big inning, and Lindsay Reicoff had as two-run double. Morris went 3-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored in support of winning pitcher Hope Spancake.
