Cal women hold off Clarion

Elena Antonenko had 20 points and nine rebounds to help California University hold off Clarion, 68-64, in a women’s PSAC-West basketball regular season finale Wednesday night.
Irina Kukolj added 16 points and nine rebounds for the playoff-bound Vulcans (15-7, 19-7), who led 38-21 at the half, only to be outscored 43-30 in the final 20 minutes.
The Vulcans shot just 36.6 percent from the field but were helped by 21 offensive rebounds.
Stephanie Michael added 10 points for the winners.
Tania Holmes had 19 points and Hannah Heeter added 18 points and 13 rebounds for Clarion (9-13, 13-15).
California 82, Clarion 58: Quentin Harding and Keith Lowe scored 17 points each as California wrapped up its season with an 82-58 PSAC-West win over Clarion.
Chris Williams added 12 points, and Jake Jacubec had 11 for the Vulcans (11-11, 12-14), who limited the Golden Eagles (4-19, 6-20) to 31 percent shooting.
Mike Kromka came off the bench to score 14 points for Clarion, which also got 10 points from Calvin Edwards.
