ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Bishop Rosecrans made five of six free throws in the final minute to hold off a comeback by Canon-McMillan in the Route 40 Classic girls basketball event Sunday afternoon in Zanesville, Ohio.

C-M (6-8) trailed 32-20 at halftime but pulled to within three points with less than one minute to play, when it was forced to foul and put Bishop Rosecrans on the free-throw line.

Bishop Rosecrans (12-2), a state finalist last year in Ohio, had three players score in double figures led by Molly Nash’s 14 points. Alexis Kirkbride had 13 points, including four three-pointers.

The Big Macs also put three players in double figures, including sophomore Danielle Parker, who scored a game-high 16 points. Juniors Brittany Hutchinson and Olivia Lorusso followed with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
