Peters Twp. lacrosse reaches semifinals

Peters Township roared to a 10-1 halftime lead and easily routed State College 16-4 in the PIAA Division I lacrosse quarterfinals Saturday at State College.

The Indians will advance to Tuesday’s semifinals against Radnor, which defeated Springfield, 15-8, yesterday. The match will be played in Hershey.

Sarah Bootman led the way for the Indians (19-2) with four goals and two assists. Hannah Wilcox added four goals and an assist. Caitlin Carey and Allison Hurley each scored three goals and added three assists.

Mel Morgret made five saves, and the Indians defense held State College to just nine shots.
