The California University men’s golf team finished seventh in the team standings ar the 38th-annual Barton Intercollegiate in Wilson, N.C. Tuesday afternoon. Cal shot a 34-over 610 (303-307) for the two-day event, which featured 12 teams.
Sophomore Charlie Durman tied for eighth with a 3-over 147 (73-74, while classmate Jordan Eck was at 5-over 149 (75-74) to tie for 18th.
King (Tenn.) won the team title with a score of 10-over 586.
Waynesburg senior Nick Berdine was named the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Player of the Week after leading the Yellow Jackets’ offense by going 12 for 24 durign a 4-2 stretch at the Russ Matt Central Florida Invitational March 11-15. He also drove in 10 runs and scored eight more.
Junior Jasmine Blackwell was selected as the ECAC Division III South Hitter of the Week after going 14 for 28 with two doubles, 10 RBI and nine runs scored, as Waynesburg won five times in the final eight games of the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla.
The Washington & Jefferson College water polo team dropped a 19-6 decision to the University of Redlands yesterday to remain winless (0-14) on the year.
Junior Catherine Villa led the Presidents with three goals. Sophomore Charlotte Lima made five saves, and senior McKenzie Graf blocked a pair of shots.
