Caroline Cree singled twice and drove in two runs to help Carmichaels defeat Minford, Ohio, 4-1, Thursday in the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Winning pitcher Erica Burns struck out seven and walked one for the Mikes (2-0). Tressa Carter tripled for Minford.
