Kobrys rushes for 311 yards in FC rout

McDONALD – Fort Cherry running back Kolton Kobrys rushed for 311 yards Friday night, surpassing 1,000 yards on the season, as the Rangers (5-1, 5-1) rolled over Bishop Canevin 42-6 in a Black Hills Conference matchup.

Kobrys scored three touchdowns, all in the first quarter, on runs of 82, 52 and 35 yards, and averaged 22 yards a carry.

Quarterback Matt Heslin tossed two touchdown passes, a 35-yarder to Alex Babirad at 4:12 in the second quarter and a 21-yard pass to Zach Dysert in the fourth.

Anthony Panizza added a score on a 65-yard interception return in the third quarter.

Fort Cherry built up a 35-0 lead in the third quarter before Canevin’s Tyler Reddy hauled in a 61-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Reed Relosky.

Bishop Canevin fell to 2-5 overall.
