West Chester holds off California

WEST CHESTER – Rondell White had 34 carries for 145 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns as West Chester stayed unbeaten with a 38-31 victory over visiting California Saturday in a PSAC college football game.

White scored a pair of 1-yard rushing touchdowns and 17th-ranked West Chester (5-0) also got a 97-yard kick return from Brandon Monk moments after Terrell Roberson had returned a kick 100 yards for a score for the Vulcans (3-2).

Sean McCartney also threw a touchdown pass and rushed for a score for West Chester, which limited California to 53 yards rushing.

James Harris, a Wake Forest transfer making his first collegiate start, completed 16 of 31 passes for 273 yard and a pair of touchdowns for the Vulcans. He also ran for a score.
