PITTSBURGH – Pitt quarterback Tom Savage, who has been suffering from concussion-like symptoms, will be available when the Panthers meet Virginia Tech on Saturday.
Savage was injured vs. Virginia on Sept. 28, and left that game. The Panthers were off last week after the 14-3 win over the Cavaliers.
“Tom has been cleared,” Pitt coach Paul Chryst said, before looking at the remainder of his injuries. “I think we’re going to get (starting middle linebacker) Shane (Gordon) back. He’s going to try to go, and we’ll see where he’s at. (Defensive end Bryan) Murphy missed the last couple games, (but) we think he’s going to go.”
Pitt (2-1 ACC, 3-1) has pleasant memories vs. the No. 24 Hokies (2-0, 5-1). Virginia Tech was ranked No. 12 when the Panthers posted a 35-17 win at Heinz Field last season.
