Fort Cherry offense in high gear during 86-19 rout

McKEESPORT – Fort Cherry scored 46 points in the first quarter Friday night on the way to an 86-19 rout of Serra Catholic in a Black Hills Conference game.

Koltan Kobrys rushed for 152 yards on six carries and scored five times for the Rangers (6-1, 6-1). Dan Barley had 115 rushing yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and Garrett Whalen rushed for 11 yards on six tries and scored twice.

Quarterback Matt Heslin completed 5 of 7 passes for 93 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Alex Babirad had two receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown, and tight end Zach Dysert’s lone catch produced a 26-yard score.

Serra fell to 1-6 and 1-7.
