Washington High School battled a tough Mount Pleasant High school football team Friday night, October 11, 2013 at Wash High Stadium

Washington High School suffered two losses Friday. The Prexies found out before a key Interstate Conference game against Mount Pleasant that lineman Zach Blystone was not going to play because of eligibility issues. Then the Prexies were routed by the Vikings, 47-22.

Meanwhile, Avella has to wait at least one more week to snap a playoff drought that spans to 1976. The Eagles lost to Carmichaels, which sewed up a berth in the Tri-County South Conference. Beth-Center stayed unbeaten by knocking off Frazier, and Chartiers-Houston improved its playoff chances with a win over Carlynton. And Fort Cherry scored 86 points, including 46 in the first quarter, to romp over Serra, 86-19. Monessen went to Maryland to come away with a win from Mountain Ridge. Peters Township and Ringgold came away with impressive wins in high-scoring games.
