The family of Washington High School lineman Zach Blystone is dropping their attempts to gain eligibility for their son to play football. Joe Francis, the Blystone’s attorney, said he will ask Common Pleas Judge John F. DiSalle to vacate the preliminary injunction from Oct. 4.

Blystone’s transfer from Charleroi was challenged and the WPIAL and PIAA each denied eligibility, ruling the transfer was made for athletic intent.

Blystone played in one game – against Brownsville – and Wash High might be forced to forfeit it.
