Carmichaels clinches home playoff game

ELLSWORTH – Carmichaels quarterback Brandon Lawless threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Mikes (6-1, 7-1) clinched a playoff berth with a 51-0 win over Bentworth (1-6, 1-7) in a Tri-County South Conference game.

The win clinches a home game for Carmichaels in the first round of the WPIAL Class A playoffs.

Lawless tossed both touchdown passes to senior wide receiver Tyler Aeschbacher, who scored on catches of 11 and 29 yards.

Lawless, who has thrown for 17 touchdowns this season, completed seven of 10 passes for 97 yards. He also scored on a 20-yard run.

The Mikes defense returned two interceptions for touchdowns.
