GREENSBURG – Jeff Knox rushed for 80 yards on 15 carries and scored twice, including an unusual return, to help California get past winless Seton Hill, 33-7, Saturday in a PSAC West Division game.

The win moved California into a three-way tie for first place with Slippery Rock and Gannon. The Vulcans are 5-2 overall. Seton Hill fell to 0-4 in the conference and 0-7 overall.

Knox’s first score came on a 6-yard run in the first quarter and the second was on a fumble recovery and return for an 11-yard touchdown in the second quarter that made it 30-7.

James Harris completed 16 of 24 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns. One went for 19 yards to Desimon Greene and the other a 58-yarder to Nadir Brown in a 24-point second quarter.

Cody Nuzzo kicked two field goals of 35 yards, the second coming in the fourth quarter for the only points in the second half.

Cal had four turnovers, three fumbles and an interception by Cody Schroeder, who came in for Harris in the fourth quarter.

Cal’s defense held Seton Hill to 40 yards passing and forced nine punts.
