Geibel Catholic has informed Jefferson-Morgan High School that it will not have enough players for its game next Friday against the Rockets.
It will be the third forfeit of the season for Geibel.
According to Jefferson-Morgan athletic director Scot Moore, the Rockets do not have an opponent for Week 9 of the high school football season.
The Rockets will finish their season at 3-5 in the Tri-County South and 4-5 overall. At this point, the school has no plans to play in Week 10.
Amanda Steffey and Kelly Knisel had goals as Washington & Jefferson College defeated Ithaca, 2-1, in an Empire 8 women’s field hockey match Saturday.
Both goals for W&J (2-3, 10-5) were set up by assists from Tori Patrick and Catherine Beaudoin.
Lindsay Flanagan scored for Ithaca (2-3, 8-6).
Olivia Huber had a hat trick and Thomas More College defeated Waynesburg University, 6-0, in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference women’s soccer match.
The 21st-ranked Saints improve to 5-0 in the PAC and 11-1-2 overall. The he Yellow Jackets fall to 3-2, 6-7.
Thomas More won its eight-straight match, defeating Waynesburg University, 3-0, in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference men’s soccer match.
Jonah Ritter, Alex Dean and Brian Runyon scored for Thomas Moore (4-0, 11-2). Waynesburg falls to 2-2, 9-3-1.
