Brian Coyne had a goal and an assist, and goalkeeper Alex Gedrys recorded his 17th shutout of the season, as South Fayette blanked Laurel Highlands 2-0 in the WPIAL Class AA boys soccer semifinals Thursday night at Baldwin High School.

Ben Meindl gave South Fayette (16-2-2) a 1-0 lead in the first three minutes when he took a cross from Coyne and found the back of the net.

Coyne secured the win for the Lions with 10 minutes remaining when he scored on a direct kick from 22 feet.

South Fayette will play South Park in the semifinals Monday night at a site and time to be determined. Every South Fayette win has caome via shutout.
