Monessen finishes in top spot in Black Hills

MONESSEN – Monessen running back Clintelle Gillaspie scored three touchdowns and quarterback Noah Rullo threw for two scores as the playoff-bound Greyhounds defeated Carlynton, 42-13, Friday night in a Black Hills Conference game.

Monessen (8-1, 9-1) finished in a three-way tie for first place in the conference with Fort Cherry and Clairton, but earned the top seed and a home game in the playoffs.

Gillaspie, who scored 26 touchdowns in the regular season, ran for scores of 1, 5 and 17 yards. Rullo passed for 128 yards and no interceptions. Irvin Green caught a 20-yard pass from Rullo in the first quarter, and Justice Rawlins scored on a 15-yard pass in the second.
