Avella extends WPIAL’s longest winning streak

AVELLA – Santino Paris threw three touchdown passes and Avella racked up 475 yards of total offense as the Eagles defeated Geibel 54-12 in a Tri-County South Conference game.

Avella (4-0, 5-0), which currently has the longest winning streak in the WPIAL, ran out to a 27-0 lead in the first quarter before Geibel(0-4, 0-5) returned a kickoff 85 yards at 1:43.

Jake Temple promptly returned that kickoff for a 65-yard touchdown to give the Eagles a 34-6 lead.

Zach Thompson scored on a 30-yard run and a 45-yard pass from Paris.

Paris also tossed a 19-yard touchdown to Brian Gordon and a 75-yard touchdown pass to Temple.

Tim Fraysier rushed for 127 yards on eight carries.

Avella held Geibel to 97 yards of total offense.
