The Akron Racers scored seven unearned runs in the third inning to cement an 8-3 victory over the Pennsylvania Rebellion Tuesday night in the series finale at Firestone Stadium.

It was the fifth straight loss for the Rebellion, who fell to 8-32. Akron moved to 20-20.

The game was televised by CBS Sports Network.

Rebellion starter Tatum Edwards got the first two outs in the third but an error by shortstop Kourtney Salvarola kept the inning alive. By the time it ended, the Racers scored seven times, two on a home run by Nerissa Myers, her ninth. Ashley Thomas, Ayumi Karino and Jill Barrett each drove in a run.

The Rebellion scored two runs in the fifth on a home run by Lauren Lappin, her first of the season. Lappin went 3-for-3 and scored a run. They added another on a solo home run by Breezy Hamilton, her fifth.
