SAUGET, Ill. – Scott Kalamar’s bases-loaded walk with two outs in the top of the 10th inning forced home pinch-hitter Danny Poma with the winning run as the Wild Things snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the Gateway Grizzlies.

The win enabled Washington to make a big move toward clinching its first Frontier League playoff berth since 2007. The magic number for clinching a spot has been cut to two.

Washington trailed 2-0 entering the top of the ninth when it rallied for two runs on a single by Ryan Kresky, a double by Kalmar and a Gateway error.

In the 10th, Poma drew a one-out walk and was sacrificed to second by Austin Wobrock. After Garrett Rau was walked intentionally, Kresky and Kalamar walked.

Reliver Al Yevoli (4-5) pitched two scoreless and hitless innings for the win and Jonathan Kountis got the final three outs for his 30th save.
