Jefferson-Morgan continued its strong start to the season with a 49-34 victory over host Bentworth in a battle of previously unbeaten teams Wednesday night.

Rece Henneman scored 18 points for Jefferson-Morgan (3-0), which has not given up more than 44 points in a game. The Rockets held Bentworth (2-1) to single digits in three of the four quarters.

Austin Clark scored 10 points for J-M. Damon Petrola-Bakos was the only player to score in double figures for Bentworth as he tossed in 15 points.

West Greene 65, Hundred (W.Va.) 56: Craig Weaver, a 6-7 sophomore, scored 25 points and West Greene overcame serious foul trouble to rally and beat host Hundred (W.Va.), 65-56

West Greene (1-2) trailed 24-19 at halftime, and Weaver and 6-4 sophomore Kolton Rush each were saddled with foul problems that caused them to miss much of the first three quarters. But West Greene outscored the Hornets 20-9 in the third quarter to take a 39-33 lead, then scored 26 fourth-quarter points with the starting lineup back on the floor.

Kyle Shough and Beau Jackson each helped WG stay within striking distance in the first half. Both players scored a career-high 10 points.

Hundred’s Holden Moore was the game’s leading scorer with 26 points.

Geibel 50, Carmichaels 34: James Ewing scored 25 points and Geibel dominated the middle quarters en route to a 50-34 victory over host carmichaels in a non-section game.

Geibel (2-1) led 9-8 after one quarter, then outscored Carmichaels (0-3) by a 29-14 margin over the next two quarters.

Liam Shea led Carmichaels with 12 points. Bailey Miller scored 10 for Geibel.

Monessen 70, Jeannette 58: Jaden Altomore scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Monessen past Jeannette, 70-58, in a consolation game at Franklin Regional High School’s Mike Rettger Tournament.

Altomore made two three-pointers, while Justice Rice added a team-high 17 points with eight rebounds for the Greyhounds (1-3). Monessen built a 12-point lead at halftime before drawing even with Jeannette (1-3) in the second half. Brandon Lenhart also reached double figures for Monessen with 11 points

The Jayhawks were led by Julian Batts, who scored a game-high 33 points.

Chartiers Valley 79, Canon-McMillan 51: Chartiers Valley sank 15 three-pointers and had four players reach double figures in route to a 79-51 victory over Canon-McMillan in a Section 4-AAAA game.

Senior guard Matty McConnell scored a game-high 22 points with five three-pointers and senior Jake Riston added 21 points with six threes. Ross Wilkerson and Eddie Flohr both scored 14 points.

The Colts (1-0, 3-0) outscored the Big Macs 54-28 in the second and third quarters. Britton Beachy led the Big Macs (0-1, 2-1) with 17 points and Alex Hammers added 14.

Chartiers-Houston 62, South Side Beaver 52: Senior Alec Ferrari scored a game-high 33 points as Chartiers-Houston defeated South Side Beaver, 62-52, in a non-section game.

AJ Myers added 17 points for the Bucs (3-0), who built an 18-point lead at halftime and sank 11 free throws to pull away with the win.

David Wilson led South Side Beaver (2-2) with 23 points. Quae Thompson (12) and Jake Berger (11) also reached double figures.

Brownsville 47, California 44: Brownsville used two free throws with 0.8 seconds remaining in overtime to hold on for a 47-44 victory over California in non-section game.

Noah Brown scored a game-high 18 points for the Falcons (2-1), who trailed by three points at the end of the third quarter. The Trojans (2-1) were led by Tray Matthews, who scored 16 poitns and Kass Taylor chipped in 12.
