PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh forward Beau Bennett has the mumps, joining Penguins captain Sidney Crosby and a dozen other players across the NHL with the disease.

The team confirmed the diagnosis on Tuesday after a series of tests. Bennett was placed in isolation on Monday after showing symptoms of the disease.

Crosby has missed the Penguins last three games, but could return to the team on Wednesday. Bennett is already out indefinitely while dealing with a lower-body injury. It’s uncertain when he will be cleared to rejoin the club.

At least five teams have been affected by the disease, which causes swollen salivary glands and fatigue.
