McGuffey wrestlers tops Avella

McGuffey won 11 of 14 bouts on its way to a 58-13 victory over Avella in a non-section match Saturday afternoon.

Teague Nicolella (126), Aaron Harris (132), Dillon Richey (160) and Huey Gillespie (182) had pins for McGuffey (11-2). McGuffey’s Jeffrey McConn (145) and Luke Shingle (152) won by decision, and Ryan Stienstraw (Hvy) won by major decision.

Nick Kusich (170) won by major decision for Avella (2-1), and Dean Simonelli (195) got the Eagles’ only pin. The Eagles’ Dean Simonelli (220) also won by decision.
