KISKI – Vaughn Curcio managed to stay off his back in a 15-9 loss to Camden Fontenot as Kiski held on to defeat Canon-McMillan, 29-27, in a non-section high school wrestling match Monday night.

Kiski dominated the upper weight classes, getting pins from Dakota Lang at 160 and Chad Kuhn at 195 while building a 21-6 lead in a match that started at 145 pounds.

Brendan Furman pulled the Big Macs (3-1) within 21-9 with a win at heavyweight and Logan Macri’s pin at 106 made it 21-15.

But Noah Levitts had a technical fall at 113 to make it 26-15 before Tim Hritsko’s decision at 120 and Eric Poplowkowski’s fall at 126 made it 26-24.

Joey Blumer edged Matt O’Block, 4-3, at 132 to give Kiski a 29-24 lead and Fontenot was unable to pin Curcio in the final bout to win the match.
