Kerr scores 26 as Yellow Jackets win

Rebecca Kerr scored 26 points to power injury-depleted Waynesburg to a 77-66 victory over La Roche in a non-conference women’s basketball game Tuesday afternoon at Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.
Kerr made nine of 16 shots from the field and converted seven of 10 free throws as the Yellow Jackets improved their record to 3-6. La Roche (7-4), which was 1-for-18 from three-point range, had its six-game winning streak end.
Waynesburg forged a 43-39 lead at halftime, then stayed in front as Kerr scored 14 second-half points. The Yellow Jackets opened the second half with a 6-0 run and La Roche never drew closer than five points the rest of the way.
LaShauna Brothers scored 23 points and Danasha Harris had 18 for the Red Hawks.
