Maryland-Eastern Shore drops Duquesne

PITTSBURGH – Mike Myers had career-highs of 22 points and 14 rebounds, Devon Walker hit six 3-pointers and scored 21 points and Maryland-Eastern Shore defeated Duquesne, 78-69, Sunday.

The Hawks (7-8) beat an Atlantic 10 team for the third time this season after going 45 years without beating a team from the current Atlantic-10 and have one more win than they had last season.

Devin Martin added 10 points for Maryland-Eastern Shore, which shot 57 percent (28 of 49), including 9 of 15 from 3-point range, and was 13 of 19 from the foul line.

Micah Mason had 16 points and Derrick Colter had 15 for the Dukes (4-6), combining for seven 3-pointers.

With Duquesne within two points midway through the first half, the Hawks put together a 12-0 run. The Dukes closed the half with eight straight points to get within 45-38 but Eastern Shore opened the second half with a 7-2 run.
