The WPIAL announced its realignments for winter sports that will take place in the 2014-15 season.

In boys basketball, Trinity will move from Class AAAA to Class AAA, Carmichaels moves from Class A to Class AA and Jefferson-Morgan and West Greene move from Class AA down to Class A.

In girls basketball, McGuffey moves from Class AA to Class AAA, Carmichaels moves from Class A to Class AA, Waynesburg drops from Class AAA to Class AA and Fort Cherry moves from Class AA to Class A.

In wrestling, McGuffey is moving from Class AAA to Class AA.

A complete listing of the new classifications and alignments can be found on Page C2.

Deteriorating track conditions, caused by a snow/ice storm followed by a quick thaw, forced The Meadows to cancel Tuesday’s live card after three races. Live racing at The Meadows is set to resume Wednesday.
