MOON TOWNSHIP (AP) – Robert Morris scored the first seven points of overtime but needed a touch of luck – as in a late tip-in from Lucky Jones – to hold on for a 71-70 nail-biter over St. Francis (Brooklyn) Saturday to clinch the Northeast Conference title.

Karvel Anderson scored 31 points for the Colonials (13-1 Northeast, 18-11), the third time this season he’s surpassed 30 points. Anderson missed a 3-point try after St. Francis had fought back into the lead and it was Jones who made the putback for the win with 3 seconds left.

Brent Jones missed a half-court shot for St. Francis (7-7, 16-13). Jalen Cannon and Lowell Ulmer scored 18 each for the Terriers.

The Terriers were pummeled by Robert Morris a month ago, but fought through this game with 16 lead changes and six ties. Cannon scored five straight as the Terriers led with 13 seconds left in OT.
