J-M clinches playoff spot, beats Bentworth

Jefferson-Morgan jumped out to a 20-0 lead on Bentworth and rode that advantage to a 50-21 Section 2-A Class AA victory Wednesday night in a high school boys wrestling match.
Trevor Kniha (145) and Ryan Zalar (160) had pins during the big start for the Rockets (3-0), who clinched a spot in the postseason with the victory.
Ian Wolf, Aaron Mylan and John Demaske also had pins for the Rockets.
Hunter Neely and Ty Mitchell had pins for Bentworth (2-1).
Canon-McMillan 62, Chartiers Valley 12: Canon-McMillan won the first nine bouts and cruised to a 62-12 win over Chartiers Valley in a Section 4-A dual meet.
Brendan Price (113), Declan Lewis (120), Isaac Miles (138), Alec Hutchin (145), Blaze Kansco (160) and Alex Paulino (Hvy) had pins for the Big Macs (4-0, 10-0). Josiah Hritsko (132), and Malachi Krenzelak (152) won by technical falls. Dalton Macri missed the match with the flu.
Mike Roper had a pin for CV (1-2, 1-2).
Burgettstown 48, Ellwood City 24: Burgettstown moved to 4-0 in Section 1-B dual meet in CLass AA.
Darrell Bails (113), Austin McDermitt (126), Jake McKee (160), Tristan Nicholson (170), Brad Hucik (182), and Brandon Hucik (Hvy) had pins for Burgettstown.
Brad Grinnen (195) and Mike Sinclair (220) had pins for Ellwood City (3-1, 3-1)
West Greene 48, Mapletown 36: Despite having to forfeit four bouts, West Greene got six pins on the way to a 47-36 win over Mapletown in a Section 2-A dual meet in Class AA.
Getting pins for West Greene were Sheldon Phillips (120), Doug Berdine (145), Donovan Weaver (152), Dalton Wildman (182), Jeffrey Isiminger (195) and Will VanNorman (220).
Brandon Rimmell (126), Colby Kincell (132) and Zach Brown (285) had pins for Mapletown.
McGuffey 56, Moon 19: McGuffey won 10 of 14 bouts on the way to a 56-19 win over Moon in a Section 4-A dual meet in Class AAA.
Getting pins for the Highlanders (2-2, 7-3) were Aaron Harris (126) and Ryan Steinstraw (220), while Tyler Harris (152) had a technical fall for McGuffey. Moon forfeited seven bouts.
Patrick Barcaskey (182) was the lone wrestler for Moon to record a pin.
Avella 46, Carlynton 16: Avella won the final five bouts to defeat Carlynton, 46-16, in a Section 1-A dual meet in Class AA.
Winning by decision for the Eagles (5-3) were Luke Lloyd (126) with a major, Dalton Simonelli (138). Nick Kusich (145), Dakota Umphrey (152), Brian Gordan (160), Derek Allen (195) recorded pins for Avella.
Logan Witwicki (132) won Carlynton’s lone decision.
Beth-Center 63, Washington 16: Beth-Center took advantage of six forfeits and also had three pins in a 63-16 win over Washington.
Jason Stay, Nico Brown and Colton Dillon had the falls for the Bulldogs.
Kurt Adkins had a pin for Washington.
