Washington knocks off Peters Township

Dequay Isbell had 33 points and 15 rebounds as Washington outlasted Peters Township, 74-62, in a non-section high school boys basketball game Saturday.
Dupree Jenkins added 17 points and Nathan Swart chipped in 10 for the Prexies (10-3).
J.C. Brush led Peters Township (6-7) with 15 points, while Nick Valentic added 13 in the losing effort.
Fort Cherry 54, Bishop Canevin 49: Alex Babirad and Zach Dysert scored 10 points each as Fort Cherry defeated Bishop Canevin, 54-49, in a Section 4-AA game late Friday night.
The Rangers improve to 3-2 in Section and 5-5 overall. Brennan Cahill had 12 points for Bishop Canevin (0-5, 3-9).
Girls basketball
Charleroi 59, Monessen 24: Mia Woytovich and Ajie Tilghman each scored 17 points to lead Charleroi to a 59-24 win over Monessen in a non-section matchup.
Joining Woytovich and Tilghman in double digits was Corina Gottheld, who added 13 points for the Cougars (10-3). Charleroi led 30-10 at halftime before adding 19 points in the third quarter to pull away from Monessen.
The Greyhounds (1-7) were led in scoring by Mariha Johnson, who scored nine points.
Chartiers-Houston 53, Washington 43: Addy Knetzer scored 26 points to lead Chartiers-Houston over Washington, 53-43, in a non-section matchup.
The Buccaneers (9-3) trailed 21-20 at halftime before outscoring the Prexies 33-24 in the final 16 minutes of play. Chartiers-Houston has not been defeated by a public school this season.
Washington (7-4) was led in scoring by Tajah Gordon’s 14 points and India March’s 13.
California 55, Jefferson-Morgan 32: Freshman Kylie Huffman scored 17 points to lead California over Jefferson-Morgan, 55-32, in a Section 3-A matchup.
Tristen Conaway scored nine points and Olivia Helmick added nine for the Trojans (2-0, 8-3), who led 39-11 at halftime and shut Jefferson-Morgan out in the third quarter.
The Rockets (1-2, 6-4) were led by Erin Confortini and Rachel Hildebrand, who scored eight points each.
Peters Township 48, South Fayette 47: Madison Kerr scored 18 points to lead Peters Township past South Fayette, 48-47, in a non-section matchup.
Kerr was accompanied in double digit scoring by Cameron Morgan, who added 14 points for the Indians (5-9). Peters Township led 26-25 at halftime and outscored South Fayette, 13-6, in the third quarter.
The Lions (5-6) scored 16 points in the finals eight minutes, but Peters Township held on for the win.
South Fayette was led ins coring by Mikayla Fetchet’s 17 points and Lauren Crites, who scored 14 for the Lions.
