Bob Bozzuto will return next season as a coach for the Washington Wild Things. The Frontier League team made the announcement Monday.
Bozzuto has had many coaching duties for the club, including bench coach, infield coach, hitting coach and third-base coach.
“I look forward to returning to the Washington Wild Things as their bench coach,” said Bozzuto, who is the athletic director at North Allegheny High School.
“Our coaching staff and front office have been working diligently to assemble the most talented, dedicated, group of players who have a determination to represent the city of Washington and the best fans in the Frontier League with class, honor, and dignity. It is truly a privilege to be part of as great of an organization as the Wild Things and we look forward to many victories with fundamentally sound, winning baseball.”
Before Bozzuto joined the Wild Things, he managed in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, the Erie Shores Summer Collegiate League and the Tri-State Summer Collegiate League.
“I could not be happier that Bob has decided to return. I’m sure it was a tough decision for him as he is extremely busy, and we are lucky to have him as part of our staff,” Washington manager Bart Zeller said. “Bob brings a huge amount of baseball experience and does a great job coaching, but his real value is his ability to communicate with your players and get them in a good frame of mind to play baseball.”
