Wrestling: Burgettstown finishes strong, beats West Greene

Burgettstown won the final four weight classes en route to a 54-26 victory over visiting West Greene in a non-section match Tuesday night.

West Greene forged an early 10-point lead before Burgettstown battled back to take the lead, getting two forfeits around a pin by Austin McDermitt (126). Stephen Kotouch (145) also had a pin that helped the Blue Devils remain in the lead. Ryan Penderville (195) and heavyweight Brandon Hucik also had pins for Burgettstown.

Colton Hamilton (138) earned a pin for West Greene.

• Peters Township won the first seven bouts and cruised to a 51-18 win over Bethel Park.

Phil Mary, Santino Bonnacorsi, Michael McAleavey, Mitch Fitzgerald and Lucas Cervanek had pins for the Indians (5-0, 11-1).

Adam Mongtomery had a pin for Bethel Park.

• South Fayette picked up three forfeits in the lower weights and added pair of pins in a 55-9 win over Avella.

Shane Ging and Grant Fetchett recorded falls for South Fayette.

Jake Temple had a pin for Avella.

• Ben Hritsko’s fall at 126 pounds helped Chartiers-Houston to a 41-33 victory over South Park in a match that included eight forfeits.
