Pitt to host Iowa, Georgia Tech in 2014

PITTSBURGH (AP) – A nationally televised visit by Virginia Tech and a season-ending trip to Miami highlight Pittsburgh’s 2014 football schedule.

The Panthers, coming off a 7-6 season and a win over Bowling Green in the Little Caesar’s Pizza Bowl, open 2014 Aug. 30 against Delaware. Road trips to Boston College and Florida International follow before Pitt returns home to host Iowa Sept. 20 and Akron Sept. 27.

Pitt plays at Virginia Oct. 4 then welcomes Virginia Tech on Thursday, Oct. 16 to start a three-game homestand. Georgia Tech and Duke visit Heinz Field Oct. 25 and Nov. 1. The Panthers play at North Carolina on Nov. 15, host Syracuse in the home finale on Nov. 22 and end the season at Miami Nov. 29.
