Alec Ferrari scored 18 points, and Chartiers-Houston put together a huge fourth-quarter rally, as the Bucs stunned host Burgettstown 55-47 Friday night in a Section 4-AA boys game.

Burgettstown (2-6, 4-14) led 27-24 at halftime and increased its advantage to 43-32 heading into the fourth quarter.

That’s when C-H turned to its full-court press which forced Burgettstown into tunovers and quick shots, fueling the Bucs’ comeback. C-H outscored Burgettstown 23-4 over the final eight minutes.

Codie Hanley and Ben Shade each scored 11 points for Chartiers-Houston, which improved to 5-3 in the section and 11-4 overall.

Logan Triebsch led Burgettstown with 17 points. Cole LaRocka scored 12 points and broke the Burgettstown single-season scoring record for a freshman. LaRocka has 251 points, three more than Bryan Barto scored in the 1990-91 season.

Carmichaels 89, Avella 41: Brandon Lawless had another huge scoring game and Carmichaels cruised to an 89-41 victory over visiting Avella in Section 3-A.

Lawless scored 40 points – his second game this season with at least 40 points – and helped the Mikes (4-1, 12-2) to a 51-28 lead at halftime.

Justin Newman and Ty Cole also had big games for Carmichaels, scoring 15 and 14 points, respectively.

Bill McKee was the leading scorer for Avella (1-4, 3-12) with 13 points.

Peters Township 59, Trinity 46: J.C. Brush had 18 points as Peters Township pulled away from Trinity for a 59-46 Section 4-AAAA game.

Conner Fraley added 10 points for the Indians (6-4, 9-8), who pulled away with a 27-13 run in the third quarter.

Nick Moretti had 18 points and Avery King 13 for the Hillers (0-9, 2-13), who have now lost 12 consecutive games.

Charleroi 70, West Greene 34: Matt Indorante had 21 points, including six three-pointers, as Charleroi coasted to a 70-34 Section 5-AA win over West Greene.

The Cougars (8-1, 10-5) led 33-16 at the half.

Kolten Rush led West Greene (0-9, 3-13) with 14 points.

Chartiers Valley 88, McGuffey 36: Chartiers Valley and McGuffey combined to make 16 three-pointers, but unfortunately for the Highlanders, the Colts made 14 of those in an 88-36 Section 5-AAA win.

Jared Tuite had 18 points, Matty McConnell and Joey Antonucci 13 each and Caleb Zajevic 12 for the Colts (9-0, 15-1), who led 36-12 after one quarter.

Shaun Sanders had 15 points and 10 rebounds for McGuffey (0-7, 2-15).

Beth-Center 62, Jefferson-Morgan 37: Beth-Center trailed 23-11 after one quarter but held Jefferson-Morgan to 14 points the rest of the way to beat the Rockets, 63-37, in a Section 5-AA game.

Adam Walters had 20 points and Ryan Beyer added 19 for the Bulldogs (4-6, 5-10).

Rece Henneman had 22 points to lead the Rockets (4-5, 7-9).

Clairton 65, Mapletown 42: Isaiah Hollis had 15 points to lead Clairton past Mapletown, 65-42, in a Section 3-A game.

Aaron Matthews added 12 points, while Rasheed Pecley had 10 for the Bears (3-1, 5-4).

Dereck Riggleman had 28 points for Mapletown (1-4, 5-9).

Monessen 81, Geibel 31: Clintell Gillaspie continued his torrid scoring pace by tossing in 26 points as Monessen rolled to an 81-31 victory over visiting Geibel Catholic in Section 3-A.

Monessen (5-0, 11-4) has won eight in a row.

The Greyhounds led 21-9 after one quarter and 49-14 at halftime.

Gillaspie led four Monessen players in double figures. Javon Brown had 14 points and eight steals, Jaden Altomore had 12 points and Lavelle Rush contributed 10 points. Justice Rawlins led Monessen’s passing game with 10 assists to go with 10 rebounds, and Tyler Yuille also grabbed 10 rebounds.

Geibel is 1-5 in section and 2-12 overall.

South Park 80, Waynesburg 45: Juniors Dan Wanker and Shawn Coolaghan combined for 32 points, leading South Park to an 80-45 victory over host Waynesburg in Section 5-AAA.

South Park (4-5, 6-12) forged an 18-point lead after one quarter and cruised to the victory. Joey Torris had 12 points for the Eagles.

Dom Sarra scored a game-high 20 points for Waynesburg (1-8, 4-13).

Jefferson-Morgan 47, Beth-Center 41: Allie Bogden had nine of her 13 points in an 18-6 run in the third quarter as Jefferson-Morgan rallied to beat Beth-Center, 47-41, in a non-section game.

Kayla Yorko led the Rockets (8-8) with 16 points.

Anna Bartman had 25 points for Beth-Center (3-11), which also got 10 points from Amanda Trippy.

California 48, Eden Christian 40: Freshman Kylie Huffman had a career-high 31 points as California rallied to beat Eden Christian, 48-40, in a non-section game.

The Trojans (13-3) trailed 26-17 at the half and 37-36 entering the fourth quarter.

Abby Bazzoli led Eden Christian (4-11) with 15 points.

Burgettstown 60, Mapletown 11: Every player on the Burgettstown roster scored at least two points and the Blue Devils cruised to a 60-11 victory over visiting Mapletown in a non-section game.

Michaela Bertovich, with 14 points, was the only player in double figures for Burgettstown (4-11), which had 11 players in the scoring column.

Mapletown is 1-15 and has lost 11 in a row.

Serra Catholic 68, West Greene 23: Leslie Hoye and Nichole Sieg had 12 points each as Serra Catholic defeated West Greene, 68-23, in a non-section game.

Dee Dindak and Lauren Czerwien had 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Serra (15-1).

Madison Raber led West Greene (9-6) with 14 points.
