Stewart wins High Point National

MT. MORRIS (AP) – Suzuki’s James Stewart swept the 450 Class motos in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series’ High Point National Saturday for his first victory of the year.
“The bike was awesome,” Stewart said. “Good way to go into the break. We still got a ways to go, but we’re starting off the right way. We’re getting there.”
Ken Roczen, KTM rider coming off consecutive victories in Sacramento, Calif., and Lakewood, Colo., was second overall. He was second in the first moto and third in the second.
Trey Canard was third overall, finishing fourth and second.
Roczen leads the season standings, 16 points ahead of Ryan Dungey and 22 ahead of third-place Stewart. Dungey was fourth overall, finishing third and fourth in the motos.
Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett also swept the 250 Class motos for his second straight event victory.
Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin was second overall, finishing second and sixth. He swept the motos in the first two events of the season.
Martin leads the standings, 29 points ahead of Cooper Webb and 41 in front of third-place Baggett.
