Constitution stops Seton-La Salle

HERSHEY – Constitution used an 11-2 run to take the lead before holding on to defeat Seton-LaSalle in the PIAA Boys Class AA basketball final, 61-59

The game was tied at 43 before Constitution took a 54-45 lead with five minutes left.

Ahmad Gilbert led Constitution with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Kimar Williams added 14 points for Constitution, which finished 28-5 this year.

The loss dropped Seton-LaSalle to 29-2 on the season. They were led by Levi Masua, with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Saturday’s win is the second state title for Constitution, which won the Class A crown two years ago.

Vincentian 58, Old Forge 34: Vincentian Academy used a 19-1 first-half run to take control of the PIAA Class A girls basketball final, in a 58-34 victory over Old Forge.

Junior forward Brenna Wise had 21 points and 11 rebounds, while sophomore guard Maia Joiner added 11 points for Vincentian. Vincentian finished the season with a 27-3 record and won its first championship since its Class AA title in 2002.

Old Forge, the District 2 champions, fell to 24-4 with the loss. They were led by Lauren Carey with 18 points.
