Softball: C-H stops West Greene

Kassie Kesneck struck out five batters and drove in two runs to lead Chartiers-Houston to a 6-4 non-section win over West Greene.

Kesneck went 2-for-4 with three runs batted in for the Bucs (2-3) and Haley Sutton went 3-for-3 with an RBI double. Autumn Widdup had a triple for West Greene (2-3) and Shelby Morris had a double for the Pioneers. Bailey Bennington took the loss despite finishing with eight strikeouts.

• Frazier scored six runs in the top of the sixth inning and Paige Holtz had eight strikeouts as the Commodores defeated Monessen, 9-4, in a Section 2-A game.

Monica Joseph had an RBI double for Frazier (3-0, 3-1), which was tied 2-2 heading into the sixth inning when the Commodores had six runs. Cara Grogan hit a solo home run for the Greyhounds (1-2, 1-3) and Alexa Vatakis added a double. Shleby Minardi took the loss for Monessen.
