MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) – West Virginia basketball coach Bob Huggins says the Mountaineers will survive recent defections from the team.
Huggins held a news conference Saturday to address announcements by guards Eron Harris and Terry Henderson that they are transferring.
In addition, Huggins revealed that forward Remi Dibo told an assistant coach that he plans to skip his senior season play professionally in his native France. Huggins says he hasn’t spoken with Dibo.
The three players combined for 36 points per game.
Huggins says player transfers happen all the time. He says the Mountaineers are going to be “fine” and that returning players are excited about the 2014-15 season.
West Virginia went 17-16 last season and missed the NCAA tournament for the second straight year.
