California University scored twice in the first 10 minutes but gave up two goals in the match’s final 10 minutes and lost to host and top-seeded East Stroudsburg 3-2 Friday in the semifinals of the PSAC tournament.

East Stroudsburg (19-1), which has won 19 in a row, led 1-0 on a goal five minutes into the match. California (12-4-4) answered less than two minutes later, when Janelle McCann scored from 12 yards after a run through the midfield. Three minutes later, McCann scored her second goal of the game and 13th of the season to give Cal U a 2-1 lead.

East Stroudsburg tied the score at 2-2 at the 80:13-mark with a header off a 40-yard cross. Less than a minute later, McCann was ejected from the game after receiving her second yellow card, forcing the Vulcans to play the last eight minutes down one player.

The game-winning goal came on a misplayed header by a Cal defender that resulted in an own goal in the 85th minute.

Cal was ranked eighth in the latest NCAA regional rankings and will wait to see if it receives an at-large berth to the NCAA Division II tournament. The field will be announced Monday at 7 p.m.
