The California University women’s soccer team received an at-large berth and the No. 6 Atlantic Regional seed for NCAA Division II tournament Monday night.

The Vulcans will be making their sixth-consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament and will face third-seeded Kutztown (15-5) in the first round Friday (noon) in West Chester. Kutztown posted a 2-0 victory over Cal during the regular season after the Vulcans swept both meetings in 2013, including a 6-1 victory in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Under first-year head coach Glenn Francis, the Vulcans enter the tournament with a 12-4-4 overall record.

The winner of California-Kutztown will face second-seeded and host West Chester (16-2-1) in the second round Sunday at noon.

East Stroudsburg (20-1), the PSAC regular-season and tournament champion, earned the top seed in the region. The Warriors will face the winner of fourth-seeded Notre Dame (Ohio), the Mountain East Conference regular-season and tournament champion, and fifth-seeded West Virginia Wesleyan (12-4-2).
