Pirates acquire pitcher from Rockies

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Colorado Rockies have traded right-hander Rob Scahill to the Pittsburgh Pirates for minor league righty Shane Carle.

The deal was announced Tuesday.

The 27-year-old Scahill was 1-0 with a 4.80 ERA in 12 relief outings for Colorado this season.

Scahill made his big league debut in 2012 with Colorado and pitched 23 games in the majors in 2013.

The 23-year-old Carle was a combined 4-8 with a 3.67 ERA at two levels of Class A ball, mostly as a starter.
