Sophomore Marissa Antrilli scored the clinching goal in the shootout to beat Kutztown and advance California University’s soccer team in the NCAA Division II Tournament Friday.

Regulation and both overtimes ended in a 1-1 tie.

The Vulcans (12-4-5) will face host and second-seeded West Chester Sunday at noon. Kutztown finished the season at 15-5-1.

Junior Kara Novotny gave the Vulcans a 3-2 lead in the shootout before Kutztown tied it.

Cal took a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute when senior forward Jordan Gray scored her first goal of the season, unassisted. With less than four minutes left in regulation, the Golden Bears tied the score at 1-1 on a goal by Diana Malanga, her ninth of the year.

Sophomore goalkeeper Meghan Jayes made the only save of the overtime periods when she stopped a shot at the 92:37 mark.

Jayes finished with six saves in 110 minutes, while Kutztown goalkeeper Deanna Messner had two saves.

Kutztown had a 17-6 shot advantage, including 15-6 in regulation.
